So I entered this contest that was on the official Capcom blog back in January. They provided you with four different images from Resident Evil: Extinction, and you had to make a graphic of some kind out of one or more of them. So I entered, but a week after the deadline and I still hadn't heard anything whatsoever. I figured I hadn't won and forgot about it.

Yesterday when Mom got home from work, there was this huge envelope waiting for me on the porch from Sony. Turns out I had won (only five entries were chosen)! I won a RE:E shirt, hat and the movie - in Blu-ray, which I don't yet have. But I hope to get one soon. So I'm pretty thrilled about it.

Here's my graphic. I thought it sucked, but hey!

So, I was reading my LJ Friends list this morning, and came across this little bit, written by cleolinda.

"Yeah, this will probably come as a surprise to most of y'all, but I've found that many people suffering from depression tend to perk up a little when they're with people or are otherwise presenting a public face. Whether this is from pride, or social stimulus, or just plain not wanting to bother other people with their problems, I don't know. All I know is, I'm just not the kind of person who's going to wallow and wail on her livejournal."

So. True. That's me, folks.

Tis why I am going on this vacation, even though I really can't afford it. I am so tired of worrying and being depressed. I need relief in a bad way.

Uptown Girls
Went out last night with Kristy, Stacey, Devon & Lacey. We went to Brixx for dinner (and Devon picked up the tabs, muchos grassy-ass) then Caribou Coffee afterwards, where we did what we do best - sat around, talking and people watching. Kristy was taking pictures with her 80's-era camera :oD. She was having a hard time getting a picture of me, but I think Lacey was eventually able to get one. Something about me not being in a good light. I dunno.

Next Wednesday!
Next Wednesday I leave for GA, then the next day me & the gang leaves for the beautiful beaches of Destin. Ya'll are gonna miss me, I know. ;o)

Wedding
Going to a wedding on Sunday, as I'm sure everyone reading this blog already knows (dur!!). I think I'm more nervous about how I'll look than anything else. How selfish does that sound? I bought a new dress that's very unlike what I usually wear. And I really want to look good. Especially because we're taking a family picture afterwards. I guess we'll see though. *fingers crossed*

The Friday Five
1. How much time do you spend on the Internet daily?
I hate answering this question... about 7-8 hours. Yes, I am that serious.
2. What are your favorite 3 websites? MySpace, LiveJournal & Wikipedia.
3. Do you eat at your computer? Yeah, I eat lunch almost every day at my computer, plus some occasional snacking.
4. Pick one and why - Reading the news online or in a newspaper? Both! I read the paper in the morning and check CNN during the day. I have to keep up with the news during the day. :o)
5. How many people are on your instant messenger buddy list? 93 on AIM, 36 on MSN Messenger.

Melee!!
Me & Josh having been playing a lot of Super Smash Bros. Melee lately. Before anyone gets any ideas, I suck. Big time. Josh would say all I need is more practice (and subsequently getting beaten - again), and I do. I can't do the stupid smash attacks!! Stupid combinations! RAHHHH!!! But I declare, I will get better though, in time for Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

Feels Like a Crank on My Temples...
Not that I have any room to complain when I know someone who seems to constantly with a headache, but I'm trying to figure out why I have gotten mind-numbing headaches every single day tris week. And they're the kind where once I get them under control I'm exhausted. *sigh* I need a hug.

For the 6,000,000,000,000 ½ Time
The hot, it is killing me! I feel sorry for people like Josh & Dad who have to work out in an environment trying to mimic what hell must feel like.

Pirates, Yep
A couple of weeks ago, the family went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (such a rawkin' movie). Josh told me to tell the ticket person that I wanted to see "POTC 2". So I did, and the guy actually glared at me! I guess he'd heard that one enough. But then when he gave me my ticket, he said, "One for POTC 2, enjoy your movie", so I guess he didn't get as peeved as I thought.

I did this yesterday, but wasn't able to post it until today. Stupid MySpace.

1. Are you named after anyone? If so, explain. I don't think I am...
2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? If so, is there any significance? Yes, I do. Christine for a girl, mainly because my dad always liked that name, plus that's the name of a character from The Phantom of The Opera. Vincent for a boy just because it's an awesome name. Hey, nobody steal my names!
3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been? No idea. Don't think I ever asked.
4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why? I like my name, so I wouldn't rename myself.
5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/ your name constantly? Nope, mine is pretty easy. Except my last name gets misspelled all the time.

1. What talent(s) do you have that could make you famous? Probably the only thing I can do is my special voice. Ask me about it someday.
2. If you could be famous for one day, what would you do? Bask in the my fifteen minutes... then hope I make some money off it it.
3. If you were so famous that money was no object, where would you live? I would probably stay close to where I am now. I wouldn't like living away from all my family & friends.
4. If you could meet any famous person, who would it be? Hmmm... Gerard Butler. Or Keith Urban.
5. What would be your famous catch phrase/quote/motto/last words? To borrow something my dad used to say: "That's what you get for thinking when you're not used to it!"

Destin!
Destin is less than a month away now! Actually, 27 days. EEEEEE, I can't wait! I so need a vacation like a fat man needs candy. Haha! A few days on the beach with friends & family is just what I need.

Clothes
I need some new clothes. I have two weddings that I need at least one outfit for, a new bathing suit (maybe I'll skip that one), and I definitely need some new jeans & work clothes. All my clothes are so old! Everyone has seen them a thousand times. I hate being so broke.

Furniture Shopping
I'm going to Waxhaw today with Stacey and her kids & Josh to look for furniture. Now that I have two bedrooms upstairs, I really need a futon for my old room. Not that anyone ever stays at our house, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Plus, they're nice to have for all the TV watching I've been doing lately. The folding chair I've been using isn't cutting it anymore.

So... Sore
I did a new exercise on Monday with weights that were probably too heavy, and I am paying for it now! My legs are so sore and stiff I can't straighten them out without them really hurting. Softball yesterday was a tad hard to get through, but I persevered! W00t! *cries* Someone give me some Icy Hot...

Softball Rant
Speaking of softball, I must say, I'm getting tired of a certain trend I've seen going on at softball. On three separate occasions, I've caught a runner not touching the base as they come by. When I point this out, no one does anything about it. Hello?! I should be able to tag them out, or at least make them come back to the base. I know we're not big-time pros here, but come on! We enforce everything else, why not this?

Picture
My new favorite picture, even if I don't look so great in it. :oP But when do I ever look really "good" in a picture? Regardless, it's a sweet pic.

Computer Hatred
My computer of retardation hates me. Everything I do is like a major trial. Hit refresh on my browser, the computer temporarily freezes. Try to block a sender in Outlook Express, my inbox freezes. Plus, the actual blocking takes about 5 minutes - each time. But at the same time, I would be really upset if anything happened to this computer. There's a lot of stuff one here that irreplaceable. I hope someone can possibly figure out why it's doing this, though. I have plenty of memory: 7 GB on the C drive, and about 80 GB on the D drive, so lack of memory ain't it.

Gas Prices
I need to quit reading articles about the gas situation. Every time I read one, I start to get a panicky feeling. It's not nice, I don't like it!

1.) When you were a child, what was your favorite game to play? I didn't play video games as a child, so none. Hide and seek in the dark was my favorite group activity game. Board game was Life.
2.) What is your favorite game to play right now? Video game, Kingdom Hearts II. Group activity... probabaly still hide and seek in the dark (haha!). Board game, double solitaire or Texas Hold 'Em (I know, not a board games. But they're the only ones that apply!).
3.) Can you share a good story about playing with others or yourself? Well, I was so excited when I beat KHII, because it was the first video game I'd ever beaten. Period. Never mind the fact that it was on Easy mode. I still beat it!
4.) What do you do for play time fun now? Um... watch movies. Or try to beat Resident Evil 4 when it's not scaring the daylights out of me.
5.) If you were able to invent a game, what would you call it? .........I dunno.

Yes, I've decided to start doing this so ya'll will have something to read every week. Yay. From The Friday Five.

1.) What fandom do you center on most? Lately, it's been Final Fantasy VII.
2.) Do you contribute to it much (write fanfiction, draw fanart, participate in online communities and discussions)? No. Pretty much the only thing I do is make avatars for use on message boards.
3.) Do you think that such things are good or harmful to the fandom and why? Both. It's good to have intelligent, ACTUAL conversations about fandoms. But a lot of people who don't understand the allure of a fandom can be very cruel & close-minded, thus things can get out of hand.
4.) Do you think its good or harmful for the original creator? I have absolutely no clue, but I would think they'd be a little weirded out by slash. Most characters form a particular fandom were not meant to be thought of that way (IE: Frodo/Sam).
5.) Why do you like this fandom in particular? Well, I didn't think I would ever, originally. I wasn't until I saw Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, I just became hooked. Or maybe it was when I heard the music from the movie. Either way. The fandom is interesting with a large set of varied characters that are all unique and have their own flaws and histories. Plus, I'm a huge fantasy fan.

Feast!
I can't wait for the Feast now! Mom & I are sharing a room this year. I'm glad we were able to get a deluxe room. No hauling a fridge this year! So who's staying with whom?

Visitation
Tommy came to visit for the Sabbath. It was good. He wrote me notes on his laptop throughout the sermon. Then we (me, Tommy, Josh, Joey, Chris & Courtney) went to Beef O'Bradys for dinner, then went to Bill & Sharon's for yet another night of poker (along with Kristy, Stacey & Ryan). I'm on a losing streak with poker. Every good hand I get, I either fold, thinking someone has something better, or I bet heavy and someone else has one card better than me. Suck. Anyway, it was great to see Tommy again. Hope he had a good time too, cat allergies aside. lol

New Kitty?
When Josh & I came home from the Onisicks, I found a calico kitten prowling the house across the street. Didn't take much coaxing to get her to come over. We can't bring it inside. Trip freaked. But she was around the house all day yesterday. She's quite a vocal kitty, too. We want to call her Reese (or maybe Callie), but we'll wait and see if she hangs around. Right now, she likes hanging out in the wheel well & under my car. :(

My Room = Not Teh Suck Anymore
Josh finally moved into the garage, so I now get the two rooms upstairs. Yesterday, I painted Josh's old room a really nice light purple color. Except for one wall; I had to leave it untouched, as I hope to combine the two closets into one. I hope. Until then, I will work on sponging the other three walls. Maybe a gray color.

Myrtle Beach
Josh & I went to Myrtle Beach with Dad & Cheryl to do some pier fishing. Once again, the fishing was sparse even though the conditions were perfect. But it was still fun and I wouldn't hesitate to go again. Plus, I didn't get sunburned too badly! Bonus!

Engagement
Big congrats to Devon & Josh (Mimms, not my brother!) on their official engagement!</p>
